Recently, Tisca traveled to Kashmir and couldn’t help but express her admiration for the breathtaking beauty of the valley, which she finds truly cinematic. She shared a clip of herself against a picturesque backdrop in Kashmir, stating that her love for the region began during her first college visit there.

“Been hooked on Kashmir since my first college trip there… the valley’s beauty is pure cinema, and its people are the warmest subplot…” she noted in her post, featuring the “Salvatore” track by Lana Del Rey as the backdrop.

Actor Sonu Sood appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in a money-laundering case related to the online betting application 1xBet on Wednesday. The ‘Dabangg’ actor underwent questioning by the ED for over seven hours.

On Tuesday, former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh also visited the ED. He arrived at the agency’s Delhi office around noon, accompanied by his lawyer. Sources indicate that he provided details about his promotional arrangement for the company.

The ED initiated its investigation into the app following a lavish reception hosted by one of the founders of the gambling platform in the UAE. This probe has also unveiled a Rs 5,000 crore hawala racket operating across the UAE and Pakistan.

Former cricketer Robin Uthappa also appeared before the ED on Monday. Prior to this, former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan faced questioning regarding alleged money laundering linked to an “unauthorised” gaming app that he endorsed in advertisements. Additionally, former cricketer Suresh Raina was questioned by the ED in the same 1xBet case.

The 1xBet India website claims to offer a wide array of sports betting options for registered users. It lists various games such as the Aviator Game Online, cricket betting, and online casino slots, accepting bets through Telegram payments on sports events including football, basketball, cricket, tennis, and e-sports.

In light of ongoing investigations into alleged financial misconduct, the company has withdrawn its services from the UK, the US, Russia, Spain, and France.

Bollywood actor Gajraj Rao is currently celebrating the success of his latest film, “Jolly LLB 3.” In a recent social media post, he reflected on his memorable first encounter with co-star Ram Kapoor, sharing a heartwarming anecdote from 14 years ago.

A Memorable Encounter

Rao expressed his admiration for Kapoor, stating, “Ram Kapoor is not just an actor; he is an outstanding actor — a human cyclone. His charismatic personality can take over any room, any film set.”

Recalling his early impressions, he said, “I first noticed him around 25 years ago in Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding and later in Sudhir Mishra’s Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, where I had a small cameo alongside Saurabh Shukla. A few years later, I watched him in Motwane’s Udaan and instantly became a fan of his craft.”

The First Meeting

Gajraj Rao detailed their first meeting, which occurred during a promotional shoot for Kapoor’s popular TV show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain in 2011. “I was thrilled — here I was, about to direct one of my favourite actors and one of the biggest TV stars of that era. But instead of a warm smile, I got cold, distant glances from Ram.”

He noted that while his co-star Sakshi Tanwar was cooperative and open to ideas for the TVC, Kapoor was not. “After the first shot, he firmly told me he would perform only the way Ekta Kapoor, the producer, had visualised his character — not the way I was explaining. Suddenly, I was in a tight spot, with the entire unit staring at me. For a moment, I felt like Premnath facing Pran in Bobby.”

Overcoming Embarrassment

Rao reminisced about his feelings of embarrassment, saying, “I nearly surrendered but then gathered courage and politely requested Ram to give me one option to take — the version I had already discussed with Sony’s marketing head, Mr. Danish Khan, during our pre-production meeting.” Ultimately, after much persuasion, Rao revealed, “Ram reluctantly agreed.”

After finishing that take, Rao silently cursed his situation, promising himself never to work with Kapoor again. However, ten minutes later, he felt a tap on his shoulder. “It was Ram. He admitted, with disarming honesty, that after watching the monitor, he realised my interpretation was indeed correct.” Rao praised Kapoor’s grace, stating, “And just like that, the man I had judged arrogant all morning transformed into the most collaborative and graceful actor on set.” The day proceeded smoothly, with the promos succeeding and the show becoming a hit.

Using a metaphor, Rao described Kapoor as “like a coconut — tough on the outside, but tender at heart. He speaks his mind, unfiltered, but at the core, he is warm, gracious, and a delight to work with.” Reflecting on his recent experience with Kapoor in “Jolly LLB 3,” Rao added, “Cut to 2024: I was back on set with Ram. Shane Black, the director of the upcoming crime-drama ‘Play Dirty’, has shared the rationale behind casting Mark Wahlberg in the role of Parker, a professional robber known for his expertise in large-scale, high-profit crimes.

Shane Black’s Directorial Comeback

With ‘Play Dirty’, Black returns to directing after his last film, ‘Iron Man 3’. This time, he focuses on a raw portrayal of crime drama through the character of Parker, portrayed by BAFTA Award winner Mark Wahlberg. While typical movie criminals may employ high-tech gear to execute their plans, Parker takes a different approach by understanding human psychology and using it to his advantage.

Insights into Parker’s Character

Discussing Wahlberg’s character, Shane stated, “Parker is an old-school organizer who does things based on psychology, not technology. He’s not a state-of-the-art criminal sliding down the outside of a building on a cable wearing a headset and laser binoculars. There are no fighters who do flips and balletic moves and walk-overs and spin-kicks in this story. He figures out what makes people tick and how to either work with them or thwart them. Westlake [the author] himself referred to him as being like a plumber, but with crime. He solves problems without any emotional connection. He’s not there to be anybody’s friend. He knows a lot, he gets the job done, and he’s better at it than anybody else. Maybe he’s not a great guy, but he’s an interesting guy.”

Based on Donald E. Westlake’s ‘Parker’ book series, the film is both co-written and directed by Shane Black. It follows Wahlberg as Parker, a criminal who, after being betrayed and nearly killed, seizes the opportunity to orchestrate the most ambitious heist of his life.

The Perfect Choice for Parker

Reflecting on why Wahlberg was the ideal choice for the role, Shane remarked, “Mark Wahlberg is in many ways that blue-collar guy. He represents quiet competence. When you’re doing a movie about a guy who’s somewhat robotic and quite brutal, you don’t want to cast someone who’s entirely unlikable. Mark has a very human quality even when he plays an action character. He has a sort of gravitas when it comes to appealing to the largest number of people.”
