Well-known music director Santhosh Narayanan has praised young actor Dhruv Vikram for his performance in director Mari Selvaraj’s recently released sports drama, Bison. He expressed that it felt as if all of cinema had conspired to bless Vikram with this film.

In a heartfelt post on his X timeline, Santhosh acknowledged the core team behind Bison, which includes director Pa Ranjith, Mari Selvaraj, and lead actor Dhruv Vikram. He reflected on their journey, stating:

• 2011: A soft-spoken revolutionary filmmaker and I stood helpless in a hospital, literally in tears, with a million dreams for the future and almost zero chances.
• 2018: The filmmaker, now one of India’s best, produced one of the greatest Tamil films of all time. Director Ram sir and I were in tears watching the film, hoping it would be accepted by all. The film shook the political system and won big, birthing a new legend in direction.
• 2025: These two filmmakers meet once again, now laden with expectations and criticisms. They are accused of playing caste politics and targeted for every slip. Then comes Bison Kaalamadan—a true glimpse of what these two revolutionaries envision for this beautiful world. I watched the film in tears of hope and am immensely proud of you, my dear @beemji and @mari_selvaraj. The way you hugged Mari with tears after the press show is a testament to what you should always strive to be, Ranjith.

Santhosh shared that he often argues with Pa Ranjith, emphasizing that it’s to ensure they stay true to their goals.

“Yes, I argue a lot with you and constantly feel agitated about certain things, but my only intention is to keep the goal unchanged. Bison was like a warm hug for me,” he mentioned.

To Dhruv Vikram, son of popular Tamil star Chiyaan Vikram, he said, “Dhruv, you did exceptionally well in this film. It felt like all of cinema conspired to bless you with this. We are proud of your achievement, and I am sure Appa is celebrating right now.”

Scheduled for release on November 28 in both Hindi and Tamil, the teaser beautifully captures the magnetic tension between the characters Shankar and Mukti. Notably, this will mark Kriti’s first on-screen collaboration with Dhanush.

‘Tere Ishk Mein’ is a collaborative presentation by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and Colour Yellow. It is produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma, alongside Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. Directed by Aanand L Rai, the film features a screenplay crafted by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, and includes music by A.R. Rahman with lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil. The film is set for a worldwide release in Hindi and Tamil on November 28, 2025.

The 49-year-old actress has joined forces with best-selling author Harlan Coben for this gripping tale, which follows Maggie, an accomplished surgeon ensnared in a deadly conspiracy.

Challenging Traditional Roles

In an interview with BBC News, Witherspoon shared her childhood experiences watching James Bond movies, often questioning the portrayal of women. “Growing up, I always saw James Bond movies; my dad was obsessed with them. But I was like, why are (the girls) all in bikinis, and I don’t understand what that’s got to do with solving the crime?”

She stated, “If I was going to do a thriller, I wanted the woman to be at the center of it. I wanted her to have a unique skill set everybody in the world wanted, but she didn’t even realize it. She doesn’t have to shoot guns or punch bad guys; she’s actually just very smart, very intuitive, and an incredible surgeon.”

Witherspoon revealed that her parents’ professions heavily influenced the characters in Gone Before Goodbye. “I grew up in a medical military family and I grew up on a military base, so I was surrounded by other moms and dads who were medical military people. The actress is passionately advocating for more strong female leads in Hollywood and is committed to using her successful company, Hello Sunshine, to address “the gap.”

“I always see the gap; I see the white space. I started Hello Sunshine in 2011 because I just wasn’t seeing complex storytelling for women in the movie space,” she explained.

The film features an impressive ensemble led by acclaimed filmmaker-actor Selvaraghavan alongside Kushee Ravi. Other notable actors include Y.G. Mahendran, Mime Gopi, Kousalya, Sathish, Deepak, Hema, Lirthika, and N. Jothi Kannan in pivotal roles.

Sources close to the film’s unit indicate that the story is set in a serene village, ultimately disrupted by a devastating tragedy. “A devastating tragedy unsettles this peaceful village’s harmony and draws the protagonist into its turmoil. In his quest to save his people, the choices he makes transform him into the deity of the land,” the source explained, shedding light on the inspiration behind the film’s title.

Producer’s Vision

Producer Vijaya Sathish has mentioned that ‘Manithan Deivamagalam’ will delve into themes of faith, sacrifice, and the spiritual bond between a land and its people. “We can’t wait to present more very soon. Heartfelt thanks to our cast, crew, and supporters who have stood by us from day one,” she stated during the title announcement.

Technical Team

On the technical side, the film features cinematography by Ravi Varma K and music by A.K. Prriyan. The editing is being handled by Deepak S, while Art Direction is in the capable hands of Bhakiyaraj. Actor Vishal, renowned for performing all his stunts without a body double, has revealed that he has endured a total of 119 stitches all over his body.

After the success of “Kantara: Chapter 1,” actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty visited the ancient Mundeshwari Temple in Bihar to express his gratitude.

Pictures from Rishab’s visit to the temple captured him performing aarti and posing near the shrine. He also participated in the coronation ritual of Maa Mundeshwari, immersing himself in the temple’s spiritual atmosphere.

The Mundeshwari Devi Temple is an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) protected monument since 1915. It is an ancient temple believed to be dedicated to the worship of goddess Durga and god Shiva, and is claimed to be the oldest functional Hindu temple in the world.

The creative team behind “Kantara: Chapter 1” includes music director B. Ajaneesh Loknath, cinematographer Arvind Kashyap, and production designer Vinesh Banglan.

“Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1” is an epic mythological action film directed by Rishab Shetty. The film stars Rishab Shetty alongside Jayaram, Rukmini Vasanth, and Gulshan Devaiah.

Serving as a prequel to the 2022 film “Kantara,” the story delves deeper into the origins of the tradition and ancestral conflict introduced in the first film. Set in pre-colonial coastal Karnataka, the film explores the ancient roots of the Buta Kola ritual, the lore, and the history highlighted in the original. Like its predecessor, this prequel intertwines regional folklore, spirituality, and action, continuing the narrative of mankind’s relationship with nature and the divine.

Released on October 2, it is available in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English.

Meanwhile, the original “Kantara,” released in 2022, features Rishab in dual roles, alongside Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, and Achyuth Kumar.
