Veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha remembered the legendary Dev Anand on his 14th death anniversary.
Shatrughan shared two throwback stills from their collaborations, “Prem Pujari” and “Gambler,” on his official X handle (previously known as Twitter). He expressed that Dev Anand remains one of the most stylish heroes in the industry to this day.
“Remembering Dev Saheb with love, fondness & an attitude of gratitude. #DevAnand is one of the most stylish & evergreen heroes till date. (sic)” was the heartfelt message in his post. He also conveyed that the wisdom shared by Dev Anand continues to resonate with him.
“Your motivation & advice is very close to my heart even today. Long Live Dev Saheb! #DeathAnniversary,” he added.
About “Prem Pujari” and “Gambler”
“Prem Pujari,” directed by Dev Anand, also features Waheeda Rehman, Prem Chopra, Madan Puri, and Amrish Puri in pivotal roles. The film tells the story of Ramdev Bakshi, a peace-loving army officer who defies orders, leading to his court-martial and eventual disappearance.
Their second collaboration, “Gambler,” directed by Amarjeet, stars Dev Anand alongside Zaheeda and Shatrughan Sinha.
Dev Anand passed away in London at the age of 88 on December 3, 2011, reportedly due to a cardiac arrest.
Paying tribute to the iconic actor, Jackie Shroff also shared scenes from the 1982 drama “Swami Dada,” directed by Dev Anand. The film, which marked Jackie’s debut, features Mithun Chakraborty, Naseeruddin Shah, Christine O’Neil, Padmini Kohlapure, and Dev Anand.
“#DevAnand #43yearsofswamidada (sic),” Jackie captioned his post. Additionally, he shared a series of photographs of Dev Anand and included the song “Hai Apna Dil To Aawara” from the 1958 film “Solva Saal.”
For his caption, Jackie expressed, “Always in our hearts! #Dev Anand.”
