The film is set to be released in the summer of 2026. It’s worth noting that the film’s inaugural pooja took place in August of this year, while shooting officially commenced on the same day as the title announcement.

Previously referred to as #Venky77, this project has generated immense excitement as Venkatesh’s latest release, ‘Sankranthiki Vasthunam’, was a major success. This collaboration marks the first time Venkatesh will be directed by Trivikram, who has previously worked with the actor as a writer.

Notably, Trivikram penned the story and dialogues for the superhit ‘Nuvvu Naaku Nachav’, directed by K Vijaya Bhaskar, which starred Venkatesh alongside Aarthi Agarwal, marking her debut in Telugu cinema.

The controversy surrounding Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2019 blockbuster “Kabir Singh” has escalated, particularly regarding the song “Bekhayali.” Music duo Sachet and Parampara have released a video accusing composer Amaal Mallik of making “false and baseless” claims about the song’s origin.

Taking to Instagram, Sachet and Parampara expressed their need to address the situation for their “mental peace.” They highlighted that Amaal Mallik has repeatedly asserted that the composition resembles an older tune of his.

Duo’s Stance:
In their video, they made it clear: “Hi everyone, we are Sachet and Parampara. We are here to clarify our position regarding Amaal Mallik’s claims. We never anticipated we would have to explain ourselves. ‘Bekhayali’ is a composition created exclusively by us.”

They emphasized that the song was crafted during music sessions with the Kabir Singh team, including actor Shahid Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. “Every melody, arrangement, and lyric was developed with the full team present, making it a purely Sachet and Parampara original.”

Claims of Favoritism Addressed:
The duo also countered Amaal’s assertions about favoritism within the industry. “We weren’t part of T-Series before ‘Kabir Singh,’ while Amaal has been with them since 2015. Amaal claims that someone sent his song via WhatsApp to us, but as outsiders, would anyone favor us?” they queried, further adding, “After the release, Amaal congratulated us and asked about our next project. Why would he do that if he thought we stole from him?”

They displayed text messages exchanged with Amaal to support their claims, questioning the need for his accusations. “Why stoop to this level, Amaal? If you’re making claims, at least provide proof. Your statements in the media are misleading.”

Parampara acknowledged Amaal’s contributions to music but criticized his behavior. “Just because your work doesn’t meet expectations doesn’t mean you can disparage others for no reason. Reflecting on their relationship with Amaal, the duo noted how cordial it once was. “He used to have long talks with us, and praised our work. Why the sudden change?”

Sachet and Parampara are demanding a public apology from Amaal Mallik, asserting that his remarks have tarnished their reputation. “You took this to social media, and we seek an apology as the accusations could happen to anyone. Let’s uphold the truth; such claims affect all of us.”

They concluded by asserting the authenticity of their work. “Our music is original, and any attempt to claim it otherwise will be deemed unacceptable. We are prepared to take legal action if necessary.”

“Dhurandhar” features a cast including Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Ranveer Singh. The film draws inspiration from real-life events involving geopolitical tensions and covert operations conducted by India’s R&AW, particularly related to Operation Lyari, a crackdown on gangs and criminal syndicates in Karachi.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared director Nalan Kumarasamy’s highly anticipated commercial entertainer, ‘Vaa Vaathiyaar’, featuring Karthi and Krithi Shetty as leads, with a U/A certificate.

The film is set to release on December 12 this year. Studio Green, the production house behind the project, made the announcement on its X timeline.

Karthi portrays a police officer in ‘Vaa Vaathiyaar’, with Karunakaran as his subordinate. Krithi Shetty, making her Tamil cinema debut, plays a Gypsy spirit reader. The character Karthi embodies is also depicted as a die-hard fan of the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M G Ramachandran.

A recently released teaser showcases Karthi in a unique avatar. It reveals him stepping out of a police patrol vehicle to join dancers reveling in a lively street performance. This glimpse suggests that the film will deliver a true commercial experience filled with humor, romance, and action.

Cinematography for ‘Vaa Vaathiyaar’ is handled by George C Williams, while Vetre Krishnan takes care of editing. Stunts have been choreographed by Anal Arasu, and choreography is managed by Sandy and Sharief.

The film features lyrics written by Vivek and Muthamil, with costumes designed by Poornima Ramaswamy, Aegan Ekambaram, and Pallavi Singh. Notably, ‘Vaa Vaathiyaar’ includes three stunt co-directors: Rams Murugan, Navakanth Rajkumaar, and Sundar Venkat.

Acclaimed actor Pankaj Tripathi, who has taken on the role of producer for the series “Perfect Family,” has announced the much-anticipated second season. He expressed excitement about delivering an even more impactful chapter to fans.

“The phenomenal response to Perfect Family has been heartwarming,” Pankaj said. “As this was my debut production, seeing the audience embrace the story and its message means a lot. I am happy to extend my support for the next season as well.”

About Perfect Family

Directed by Sachin Pathak and created by Palak Bhambri, Perfect Family will premiere on JAR Series’ official YouTube channel. The show takes a comedic angle on the stigma surrounding therapy in India. It revolves around a not-so-perfect family who are compelled to attend therapy due to a crisis involving their young daughter, resulting in a series of chaotic events.

The series boasts a stellar ensemble, including Gulshan Devaiah, Neha Dhupia, Manoj Pahwa, Seema Pahwa, Girija Oak, and more. Perfect Family premiered on November 27 on JAR Series’ YouTube channel.

Upcoming Projects

Pankaj will next be seen in the film adaptation of the crime-thriller-drama series “Mirzapur.” The narrative follows his character, Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi, a crime boss and businessman ruling over the Mirzapur district in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh.

The first season features an impressive cast, including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.

For the second season, most of the main cast returns, with the exception of Vikrant and Shriya. New additions include Vijay Varma, Isha Talwar, Lilliput, Anjum Sharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Anangsha Biswas, and Neha Sargam.

The film adaptation of the series is reportedly set for a 2026 release.

The late singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch Winehouse, recently issued an apology to a High Court judge while pursuing legal action against two of his daughter’s friends.

Mitch expressed being “very, very upset” after a suggestion that he and his family “have done very well” from the late singer’s estate. He firmly denied claims that he was suing her friends due to “petty jealousy” over their profits from selling items at auction following Amy’s death.

As the administrator of Amy Winehouse’s estate, Mitch is taking legal action against stylist Naomi Parry and friend Catriona Gourlay for hundreds of thousands of pounds. This action stems from allegations that the two profited from selling various items at auctions in the US in 2021 and 2023 without proper authorization or informing him.

The defense maintains that the items were either gifts from Amy or were owned by them prior to the sales. Amy Winehouse tragically passed away at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning in July 2011.

During the court proceedings, Mitch mentioned that he had approached the police regarding the situation but was informed that it fell under civil jurisdiction due to ongoing High Court matters. When questioned about whether he was portraying Ms. Parry and Ms. Gourlay as criminals, he responded, “If they had stolen things they would be criminals, wouldn’t they?”

Mitch acknowledged that he had no evidence suggesting that either Ms. Parry or Ms. Gourlay had taken anything from a secure location where Amy’s belongings were kept. Beth Grossman, representing Ms. Parry, argued that the young women are neither thieves nor dishonest, asserting, “They have always been honest to you.” She emphasized that they sold items they rightfully owned and suggested that Mitch’s actions were driven by jealousy over their financial gain at the auction.

In response, Mitch firmly said, “Yes, you are wrong.” He believed the funds raised from the 2021 auction, which amounted to approximately 1.4 million dollars for the estate, would be shared among himself, Amy’s mother Janis, and the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

Notable Films

Kalicharan, released in 1976, was a significant box office success, starring Reena Roy, Premnath, Ajit, Madan Puri, and Danny Denzongpa. It revolves around Prabhakar, an honest policeman murdered by the crime lord Din Dayal. Afterward, Khanna, Prabhakar’s lookalike, is recruited to defeat Din Dayal. This film was later remade into several regional versions, including Khaidi Kalidasu in Telugu, Kaalinga in Kannada, Sangili in Tamil, and Pathamudayam in Malayalam.

Vishwanath, which hit screens in 1978, tells the story of an honest lawyer framed and imprisoned by a gangster. Following his release, he seeks vengeance, ultimately becoming a criminal himself. It was also remade in Telugu as Lawyer Viswanath and in Tamil as Naan Mahaan Alla.
