Nothing Phone 2 will not be launched soon, confirms CEO Carl Pei. Here are all the details.
Nothing Phone 2 isn’t coming soon. In a recent tweet from founder Carl Pei, it’s absolutely clear that there’s no Nothing Phone 2 in the works as of now. The company is instead focusing on the Phone 1 for now and Nothing has plans regarding its software, the Android 13 update and a bit more. The Nothing Phone 1 was announced in July as a mid-range Android smartphone has undergone multiple price cuts in India over the months.
In his tweet, Carl Pei mentions that the focus is on the Phone 1 for now, with the company working on software updates, especially the Android 13 update. “Phone (2) is not launching any time soon. We’re focused on doing a few things right, and won’t release dozens of products a year like many others,” Carl wrote in his latest tweet.
Nothing Phone 2 isn’t happening anytime soon
On the other hand, nothing works on releasing the Android 13 update for the Phone 1, with the first public betas expected to arrive soon. A stable update is expected to be released in early January 2023. For now, no major UI changes are expected with the Nothing OS skin, but we could see new Android 13 features.
I’m not sure which one
The Nothing Phone 1 is currently one of the strong contenders in the midrange smartphone segment. The Phone 1 starts with a price of Rs. 27,499 for the base 128GB variant in India, offering a solid combination of specs and user experience. The Phone 1 flaunts a unique design with a semi-transparent back panel and the Glyph lights, the latter used for notification and fill-in lighting in the camera.
Design aside, the Phone 1 packs a strong punch for an Android device. The Phone 1 offers a 6.5-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 778G+ chipset, a clean Nothing OS experience based on Android 12, a 4500mAh battery with 33W wired charging and wireless charging, a few 50MP cameras on the back, and solid user experience.
