Flop South Remakes Of 2022: The year 2020 proved to be very bad for the Bollywood industry. One after the other the films of many big stars flopped. Not only this, no magic of remake of South films could work at the box office. Today we will tell you about those films which were hit in South, but when they were remade in Bollywood, they flopped.
Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Bachchan Pandey’ is a remake of the Tamil movie ‘Jigarthanda’, which was released in the year 2014. This movie was superhit but its remake ‘Bachchan Pandey’ was badly beaten at the box office. Made in a budget of 180 crores, this film was able to collect only 73 crores. Apart from Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, Prateik Babbar and other stars worked in this movie.
Sail Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan’s film ‘Vikram Vedha’ could not show anything special at the box office. This is a remake of the Tamil film ‘Vikram Vedha’. The budget of Saif and Hrithik’s ‘Vikram Vedha’ was Rs 175 crores, but the film proved unsuccessful in terms of earnings.
Shahid Kapoor’s sports-drama film ‘Jersey’ was released in late 2021, but flopped at the box office. While its original movie ‘Jersey’ proved to be a hit. Apart from Shahid, Pankaj Kapoor and Mrinal Thakur worked in it.
Hid: The First Case
Rajkumar Rao and Sanya Malhotra starrer ‘Hit: The First Case’ also failed to impress the audience. This movie is a remake of Telugu film Hit: The First Case which did three times more business than the budget at the box office. According to the report, Rajkumar’s movie collected only Rs 11.78 crore at the box office.
Shilpa Shetty and Abhimanyu Dassani’s ‘Nikamma’ also fared like other films at the box office. This movie could collect only Rs 1.51 crore in three days, while the original Tamil movie Middle Class Abbayi earned Rs 70 crore.
