Tabassum was born on 9 July 1944 in Ayodhya. Although he did his studies from Mumbai. His first film was ‘Mera Suhaag’ in the year 1947, in which he played the role of a child artist. After this film, Tabassum was also seen in Dilip Kumar and Nargis’ film ‘Deedar’ in the year 1951. In this film, he played the character of Nargis’s childhood.
Hosted the first Indian talk show
Tabassum had gained a lot of popularity as an actress. Along with that, he had made a very strong identity as a TV talk show host. Tabassum hosted the first Indian TV talk show ‘Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan’ for 21 years. This show started in the year 1972 on Doordarshan and ran till the year 1933. In this show, she used to interview all the big film stars. His show is very much liked by the audience, due to which this show was not only a hit, but Tabassum also gained a lot of popularity.
