Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2: The film ‘Ponniyin Selvan: 1’, directed by Mani Ratnam, tasted stupendous success. The film was released in theaters on 30 September 2022. The audience also gave a lot of love to this film and now everyone’s eyes are on the second part of the film. Mani Ratnam has started work on ‘Ponniyin Selvan: 2’ (Ponniyin Selvan 2). Film Critics Ramesh Bala has also announced its release date.

According to reports, ‘Ponniyin Selvan: 2’ is likely to release in theaters on April 28, 2023. However, an official confirmation regarding the release date is yet to happen. The first part of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ earned more than Rs 450 crores worldwide and is still attracting the attention of the audience in select theaters across the globe. This film has proved to be a big blockbuster film.

Ponniyin Selvan is based on the popular Tamil literary novel of the same name written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. Veteran actors like Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Karthi and Jayam Ravi appeared in the lead roles in this film. The music of the film is composed by AR Rahman.
