Streaming giant Netflix’s short documentary “The Elephant Whispers” will premiere on December 8.
The short documentary was screened last week at the DOC NYC 2022 Film Festival – America’s largest and most prestigious documentary festival – on November 10. DOC NYC celebrates cultural change and supports how documentary storytelling is flourishing like never before.
‘The Elephant Whispers’ is a heartwarming story of an indigenous couple who are given Raghu, an orphaned elephant, to take care of them. The story follows the journey of the couple as they work relentlessly to ensure Raghu’s recovery and survival.
The short documentary beautifully captures the story of how the couple falls in love with the majestic creature over the course of time. Set against the backdrop of life in the wild places of South India, ‘The Elephant Whispers’ highlights the beauty of exotic wildlife, unforgettable wild places and the people and animals that share this place.

This short documentary is the directorial debut of Karthiki Gonsalves. The short documentary is produced by Guneet Monga and Achin Jain under the banner of Sikhya Entertainment.
