Xiaomi 12i Hypercharge could be launched in India soon and may be based on the Redmi Note 12 Pro+.
The Redmi Note 12 Explorer made headlines last week for a 210W fast wired charging solution. Xiaomi can now bring the lower-end version of the same to India under a different branding. A new leak now suggests Xiaomi could launch it in India as the Xiaomi 12i Hypercharge, the successor to last year’s Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge. The Hypercharge tag will refer to the fast 210W charging solution, it seems.
The leak comes from tipster Kacper Skrzypek, who says Xiaomi may bring the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus to India as the Xiaomi 12i Hypercharge. The phone has been spotted off Indian markets and could make its way to our shores unchanged, the leak suggests. However, Xiaomi has not yet confirmed anything on this matter and therefore you should carry out an official update. In addition, Xiaomi’s “i” series phones are usually launched in January each year and we could see the same schedule this year.
Xiaomi 12i Hypercharge could be launched in India soon
The Xiaomi 12i Hypercharge takes over from the current Xiaomi 11i series. The phone can compete with the Oppo Reno 8 and Vivo V25. Since it will be based on the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, the specs are expected to be quite attractive.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus comes with a 200MP main camera on the back, which could be the first in its segment. This could be paired with two other camera sensors on the back. Redmi also uses the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip and comes with MIUI 13 based on Android 12. It also has a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display and goes for a new design that we saw on the Redmi K50i before.
What remains to be looked at is the pricing. The benefits of 210W charging are only minor compared to the previous 120W solution and therefore the phone could be priced the same as the Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge. Xiaomi could also make a splash and bring the 210W equipped Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition to India with a different Xiaomi badging.
