Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Technology, said gadget maker Apple, which is reportedly facing “supply restrictions” on some specific models of iPhones in India, is working on ways to address this.
“I spoke to Apple and they said that while the demand for iphone14 is also being met with indian products, the demand for iphone14 pro has risen and is facing supply constraints that they are addressing. pvt sales are likely to be ‘alternative’ delivery channels”, said the minister. said in a tweet in response to a user who complained that several private players, particularly in Delhi NCR, have sold a specific model of iPhones in all cash.
The Twitter user also claimed the idea was created in regards to “unavailability” of stocks, which he said was “deliberate” and intended to make additional profits.
With new models hitting stores, the demand for the newly launched iPhone 14 has soared this festive season. In addition, attractive offers from various e-commerce and retail platforms also boosted demand for the new model.
In other news, Apple announced last month that it was all set to start manufacturing its latest iPhone 14 models in India, just days after it was unveiled worldwide.
Apple unveiled the highly anticipated iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus variant at its “Far Out” event on September 7.
Further details on where the iPhone will be produced in India, the second largest smartphone market, has not yet been made public. According to reports, the locally produced models are likely to hit the market later this year.
