“It’s Very Painful. Looks Easy In Films”

Rahul Dev recently opened up about the difficulties he faced as a widower and single father for his son Siddharth. The actor, who lost his wife Reena Dev to cancer in 2009, raised his son single-handedly. In an interview with Connect FM Canada, the actor revealed that parenting is not easy. He tried to be both mother and father to his son, but there were times when he would lose his cool. Rahul also said that when he used to go to his son’s parent-teacher meeting, he used to feel insecure seeing mothers of other children attending the meeting. He said that being a widow is not as easy as it is shown in the movies.
Speaking to Connect FM Canada, Rahul Dev said, “Parenting is not easy at all. Women have a big hand in raising children, the way they understand children, probably because it comes from them. The kind of patience they have for kids, I tried hard, but sometimes I would lose my temper, my frame of mind. I had to try to be both mom and dad. When I was a parent in school- I used to see most mothers when I went to teacher’s meetings. I would hardly have met a man but he would have a wife. At that point, I would have felt a sense of deep insecurity. I wonder where men are.”
He continued, “It’s very painful. A lot of it I don’t want to miss. A lot of it I don’t wish on anybody, that kind of situation. It seems easy in movies, so many times movies show that someone Became a widower. But starting again is not easy at all.”
Rahul Dev, who is currently dating actress Mugdha Godse, also spoke about their relationship and said that he felt that the relationship was “inappropriate” because of the age difference of 14 years. He said, “He’s young. I’ve just crossed 50 and he’s yet to touch 40. So, I used to think, ‘Is this relationship inappropriate?'” Rahul Dev and Mugdha Godse are dating each other for eight years. ,
Meanwhile, on the work front, Rahul Dev will be next seen in Kannada film Kabza co-starring Kichcha Sudeep and Shriya Saran.
