Bipasha Basu Reveals She Was “Not Taking Up Work” As She Wanted To Have A Baby

Bipasha Basu and her husband Karan Singh Grover are going to adopt parenthood soon. The couple surprised their fans by announcing the pregnancy on their respective Instagram handles on Tuesday. Now, the actress recently revealed in an interview with Hindustan Times that the couple was trying for a child before the COVID-19 pandemic, but had to put the plan on hold. The single actress also revealed that she “wasn’t doing any work” because she wanted to have a child.
“The plan was to definitely focus on that in life. I wasn’t really doing any kind of work, because I wanted to have a baby, then immediately started working out. It took me a while. In 2020, we completely gave up on the idea because we didn’t know where the world was going, so for a year we took a break from trying. In 2021 we decided to try again, and God be merciful, We imagined,” Hindustan Times quoted Bipasha Basu as saying.
Recalling the moment when Bipasha Basu found out that she was pregnant, she said, “It was a very emotional day. I remember and Karan at my mother’s house as we were, she was the first person I would tell I wanted to. Everyone was emotional. It was my mother’s dream to have Karan and me to have a baby. I always believed we would, and it happened. I am more than grateful for that.”
On Tuesday, Bipasha Basu shared her pictures with her husband Karan Singh Grover, in which she is seen flaunting her baby bump. Along with the pictures, she penned a long note that read, “A new time, a new stage, a new light adds another unique shade to the spectacle of our lives. Making us a little more whole than we were before. We started did this life personally and then we met each other and since then we were two. too much love for only two, it seemed a little unfair to see us… so soon, what we once were two will now be three A creation revealed from our love, our baby will soon join us and add to our glee. Thank you all, for your unconditional love, your prayers and well wishes as they are and will always be a part of us. Thank you for being a part of lives and reveal another beautiful life with us, our baby girl. Durga Durga”

Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover got married in April 2016 after dating for a year. The pair have worked together in the film Alone and a web series Dangerous.
