iPhone 14 Max is expected to launch in less than a month and here are all the new upgrades we expect this year.
The iPhone 14 series is now the next big smartphone launch we look forward to. This year we were supposed to get four new models, but with a twist. There is the usual 6.1-inch iPhone 14 along with the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and the larger 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max. There won’t be an iPhone 14 Mini, though, and Apple could most likely fill its void with a new 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max or iPhone 14 Plus, as some say. This is going to be the big new iPhone that could be more popular with the masses.
The leaks say that, in theory, the iPhone 14 Max will just be a larger version of the iPhone 14. In reality, though, it looks like the Max variant would bring some reasonable upgrades that could make it the new popular iPhone model; just like it used to be in the days of the iPhone 6s Plus or iPhone 7 Plus. Since the launch is expected to take place in less than a month, here’s a rundown of everything we know about this new giant iPhone 14.
iPhone 14 Max is coming: here’s what to expect
Big in size!
The iPhone 14 Max will be large in size. The larger screen could make it almost as big as the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Given the flat sides of new iPhones, this iPhone 14 Max can be tricky to operate.
The 6.7-inch screen on a non-Pro iPhone will be a welcome change for those who love big screens. Compared to the 6.1-inch iPhone, the 6.7-inch screen offers much more room to view and fit content. If Apple decided to use a 90Hz panel, it could provide smooth animations when scrolling. This one will continue to have the small notch like the iPhone 13, which could be a bummer for many.
Max xed battery life
The larger chassis could also mean Apple can squeeze the same large battery out of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Based on our time with the Pro Max so far, this could mean the iPhone 14 Max has really good battery life. With the older A15 chip and lesser features to boot, buyers could expect up to two days of battery life on a single charge.
Older A15 chipset
Unfortunately, Apple cannot upgrade the chipset on the iPhone 14 Max after coming off the iPhone 13. Technically, it will be fast with the 6-core GPU A15 Bionic chipset and 6 GB of RAM, but it does not have the brute power of the new A16 Bionic chip. Nevertheless, the A15 is still blazingly fast and the iPhone 14 Max is sure to show seamless performance.
Not much is known about the cameras yet. Rumors suggest the same 12MP dual camera setup on the back and a new front camera with autofocus function. The LiDAR sensor would also skip this iPhone as it is limited to just the Pro variants.
Old “new” colors
The iPhone 14 Max could get these five colors at launch. There will be the usual black and white (possibly Midnight and Starlight). The blue color can also be transferred and so can the red color, also known as product red. The green and pink colors won’t make it, but Apple could return the purple hue of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11 series.
