Moto G62 launches in India on August 11: Will it be Motorola’s cheapest 5G phone?

Moto G62 will be launched in India on August 11 and Motorola has revealed some of its specs ahead of the launch.

Motorola is raining new smartphones on us as the holidays approach. It had just launched the Moto G32 earlier today and now the company has announced a new smartphone in the Moto G series. This one could become one of the most affordable 5G smartphones to buy in India as the rumors suggest. It is called the Moto G62 5G and it is similar to the phone that was launched in Brazil a while ago. Motorola hasn’t announced the price of the phone yet, but it has revealed some India-specific upgrades.

Unlike the Brazilian variant, the Indian variant of the Moto G62 gets some basic upgrades. The biggest of these is the chipset, which has been upgraded from the Snapdragon 480+ to the Snapdragon 695. The Snapdragon 695 is a powerful midrange chipset that has found its place in many sub-Rs. 20,000 smartphones this year. Therefore, the Moto G62 5G should be able to perform well with basic apps and casual games.

Moto G62 will be launched soon in India

In addition to the Snapdragon 695 chip, the Moto G62 in India also gets an FHD+ IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone also comes with 12 5G bands, meaning it should be easily compatible with most 5G bands.

The rest of the phone is expected to remain the same as the international model. So you expect the same 6.5-inch screen. The phone may also have a triple camera setup with a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a depth sensor. The phone may also have a 16MP front-facing camera. All that can be powered by the 5000 mAh battery that relies on a 20 W charger.

What remains to be seen is how Motorola prices this phone. The segment is still dominated by the Poco X4 Pro 5G, which is priced at Rs. 16,999 offers a 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, the same Snapdragon 695 chipset, a 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charging and a 64MP triple rear camera. The Poco is also made of glass, unlike the plastic body that Motorola prefers for its Moto G series models.
