Securities And Exchange Board Of India (SEBI) Restructures Market Data Advisory Committee
Besides Sahoo, the panel has CEOs of stock exchanges and depositories.

SEBI has reconstituted its Advisory Committee on Market Data which recommends policy measures relating to areas such as securities market data access and privacy.
In a reshuffle in its market data advisory committee, SEBI has said that the panel will now be headed by Professor S Sahu of the National Law University, Delhi and former chairman of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). The 20-member committee was earlier headed by Madhabi Puri Buch, a former whole-time member of SEBI.
Besides Sahu, the panel has CEOs of stock exchanges and depositories, representatives of various stakeholders and senior officials from SEBI as members.
Committee members include Ashlesh Gosain, Regional Head – South Asia, Bloomberg LP, Mumbai; Reena Garg Scientist F & Head (Department of Electronics and Information Technology) at BIS; Kiran Shetty, CEO and Regional Head – India and South Asia at Swift India; Ganesh Ramkishan Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Bombay.
Also, Ashishkumar Chauhan, Managing Director and CEO of BSE; Vikram Limaye, MD & CEO, NSE; CMIE MD Mahesh Vyas; Prithvi Haldia, chairman of Prime Database; And Anuj Kumar, CEO, CAMS is also a member.
The scope of the committee’s work includes segment-wise data perimeter, identifying data needs and gaps, recommending data privacy and data access regulations applicable to market data. It is responsible for recommending appropriate policy for access to securities market data.
In addition, the committee recommends standardization of data definitions; Data identification logic (use of the same code to identify and store data – raw data and derived data) and data validation techniques (single source of truth, validation).
