Petrol and diesel prices: Fuel rates were stable in metro cities today
Petrol, Diesel Prices Today: December 28, 2021 Petrol and diesel prices in metro cities remained unchanged on Tuesday. Earlier, the Delhi government had reduced the value-added tax on petrol from 30 per cent to 19.40 per cent. As a result, petrol prices in the national capital were reduced by Rs 8.56 per litre. A liter of petrol in Delhi now costs Rs 95.41, while diesel rates – which were kept unchanged – stood at Rs 86.67 per litre.
Petrol in Mumbai is being sold at Rs 109.98 per liter, while diesel is being sold at Rs 94.14 per litre. Among metro cities, fuel rates are still among the highest in the financial capital. (Also Read: How To Check Latest Petrol And Diesel Rates In Your City).
Petrol and diesel prices in metro cities are as follows:
State-run oil refiners such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum revise fuel rates on a daily basis, taking into account crude oil prices and rupee-dollar exchange rates in international markets. Any change in the prices of petrol and diesel is effective from 6 am every day.
Globally, oil gained more ground on Tuesday with prices trading near one-month highs of the previous session on hopes that the Omicron coronavirus pandemic will have only a limited impact on global demand.
Brent crude rose seven cents, or 0.1 per cent, to $78.67 a barrel. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 18 cents, or 0.2 per cent, to $75.75 a barrel, for the fifth consecutive session. Both markets were trading near Monday’s peak, their highest prices since late November.
