- Saba Ali Khan shared a photo from her mother’s wedding on Sunday
- “Parents are engaged to be married,” she wrote
- “I wish I was there,” she said
Saba Pataudi’s interest in photography is well known. Thanks to him, we often see pictures of his actor siblings, Saif Ali Khan, Soha Ali Khan and their families. And, when she is not busy clicking her loved ones in their best way, Saba Pataudi has got pictures from the past to share on social media. Designers often share old pictures of their parents, iconic actress Sharmila Tagore and cricket legend Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. The latest on the list of such photos is a treasured moment from the couple’s wedding in 1969. Dressed in all her traditional splendour, Sharmila Tagore looks gorgeous while Tiger Pataudi, as she is fondly called, is as dapper as ever in the photo.
And given that Tiger Pataudi was the Nawab of Pataudi, it seems fitting that Saba titled the image “royal wedding.” Sharing the details, Saba said, “The parents are getting engaged for the wedding. ” Sending social media users in splits, she said, “I wish I was there,” adding “Mahasha’Allah”.
This is not the first picture from the couple’s wedding that jewelery designer Saba Pataudi has shared on Instagram. Earlier this year, Saba posted another black-and-white picture from the ceremony, in which Sharmila Tagore is seated with Mansoor Ali Khan behind her and the two are smiling. Sharing the picture, Saba wrote, “Two great people…made for each other. Best parents.”
Saba Pataudi’s Instagram timeline has many pictures of her parents. One such picture was doing “oohs” on the internet, which showed Tiger Pataudi fixing Sharmila Tagore’s necklace as she smiled shyly. We can only say “couple goals”. Sharing the picture, Saba wrote, ‘Dynamic couple. Mahshallah… it is a gem.”
In another throwback image, the happy couple are seen in their stylish best, with the Nawab even wearing a tiger print shirt. “Tiger Tiger… is burning fast. And Tagore shines beside. Dashing pair. Mahshallah. Never get tired of such splendid treasures…” wrote Saba Pataudi.
Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi married Sharmila Tagore in 1969 and the couple welcomed their son, actor Saif Ali Khan, in 1970. Saba Pataudi was born in 1976, while actress-writer Soha Ali Khan was born in 1978. Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi died after the battle. In 2011, at the age of 70, he got a lung infection. Sharmila Tagore was last seen in 2010 film Break Ke Baad.
