Manchu Vishnu, who won the MAA(Movie Artiste Association) was sworn in as the President of MAA today. The event was attended by many biggies of the Telugu film industry and politicians, with the Telangana Cinematography minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav present as the chief guest of the event. However, this ceremony is not untouched from its share of controversy, as has been every other incident related to this year’s election. There is a strong surge all across the industry that Vishnu did not invite the mega star Chiranjeevi or any of his family members to the swearing in ceremony. Whereas on the counting day Vishnu promised to meet Chiranjeevi and invite him personally to the event.
Manchu Vishnu already, that too, very clearly stated that he would invite everyone from the industry to the ceremony as he wanted everyone’s support and blessings for the prosperity of the industry. This list of invitations also included Prakash Raj and his panel.
This news comes in a day after the younger brother of Vishnu, Manchu Manoj met Chiranjeevi’s brother Pawan Kalyan on the sets of his film ‘Bheemla Nayak’ and were seen exchanging cordial gestures too.

The venue of the event was Film Nagar Cultural Centre (FNCC) in Hyderabad. The swearing in ceremony was attended by Vishnu’s father Mohan Babu, previous president of MAA Naresh, Manchu Vishnu’s wife and children. In the oath taking ceremony, members pledged to work for the progress of the association. MAA election officer Krishnamohan administered the oath taking ceremony and later distributed certificates to EC members. However, actor Nandamuri Balakrishna did not attend the oath taking ceremony despite receiving an invite.
The MAA is Tollywood’s apex body, whose elections are held every two years to elect the governing body of the association of 26 members. In this year’s election, with voting held on 10th of October 2021, Manchu Vishnu defeated Prakash Raj to become the president of MAA.
There are also rumours that the Prakash Raj-led panel may take the MAA election results to court. After losing the elections, Prakash Raj resigned from the MAA membership, and his winning panel members followed suit. Vishnu on the other hand requested them not to resign but work together for the progress of MAA.
