The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Mumbai has busted a rave party going on a cruise. During the raid at this rave party, NCB arrested Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan. 7 more people have also been arrested along with him on drug charges. All of them are in NCB remand for one day and there is hearing in this matter at 2.30 pm today.

NCB officials had received information that a rave party was going to be held on the cruise. After which they have recovered many intoxicants like cocaine, MDMA, mephedrone and charas in raids there. Explain that all these accused have been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
What is NDPS Act
The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was enacted in 1985. It is designed for the prevention of any intoxicant. Then whether it is the production or storage of drugs, or its sale and transportation of intoxicants. Under this act, the activities related to intoxicants are stopped. The punishment given in this depends on the quantity of the confiscated narcotics. Explain that exactly one year after the enactment of this Act, the Narcotics Control Bureau was established under the Sangh.
This crime can be punishable with death
Let us also tell you that according to Section 31A of this Act, the maximum punishment that can be given is the death penalty. But this punishment under the Act is applicable only when a person is found guilty of being involved with drugs in commercial quantities.
How to get bail?
Bail can be granted only in a case where someone has only consumed prohibited drugs or narcotics, but has not been found to be involved in any trade related to it. However, for this the accused also has to sign a bond. Explain that this law, which came into force in 1985, was amended three times – in 1989, 2001 and 2014.
